CTPH FOUNDER AND CEO, BECOMES ASHOKA FELLOW

Sep 15, 2006

CTPH Founder and CEO, Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka has been elected an "ASHOKA Fellow". She joins the global fellowship of leading social entrepreneurs having satisfied the selection criteria and successfully completing a rigorous selection process. Gladys was elected a Fellow based on her vision of linking Uganda's wildlife management and rural public health programs to create common resources that benefit both people and animals.

Ashoka Fellows are leading social entrepreneurs with innovative solutions to social problems and the potential to change patterns across society. Over a period of time social entrepreneurs study a particular field and develop and implement alternative visions and strategies to transform society. They demonstrate unrivaled commitment to bold new ideas and prove that compassion, creativity, and collaboration are tremendous forces for change.

With a vision of making everyone a changemaker Ashoka has committed to developing the field of social entrepreneurship, since 1981, searched the world and supported leading social entrepreneurs through its global network of Ashoka Fellows in 60 countries. In 2001 Ashoka elected the first Ashoka Fellows in East Africa and has since supported 26 Ashoka Fellows and their institutions.

The CTPH team is very proud of this significant achievement. Please look out for Dr. Gladys profile on the ASHOKA website at http://www.ashoka.org in the coming weeks.
