UGANDAN EXPERT � PART OF GLOBAL CONTENT JURY

Lawrence Zikusoka, Founder & Director, ICT for Development, Conservation Through Public Health, has given the outstanding honour of acting as one of the international referees who will take part in the Grand Jury of the World Summit Award (WSA) 2003.

"Making visible what already exists." That's the goal of the World Summit Award - a unique global initiative to demonstrate the benefits of the Information Society in sharpening awareness on innovative content and applications.

Mr. Zikusoka is one of 36 eminent experts in multimedia and ICT from all around the globe who will meet in Dubai (UAE), October 17 � 22, to evaluate over 800 products in the WSA categories: e-Learning, e-Culture, e-Science, e-Government, e-Health, e-Business, e-Entertainment and e-Inclusion.

The WSA Board of Directors has nominated Mr. Zikusoka from an extensive network comprising of international multimedia and ICT experts who supported the WSA by selecting the best products from 136 participating countries.

The finalists chosen by Mr. Zikusoka and the WSA Grand Jury will be exhibited and showcased in the framework of the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2003 in Geneva.

THE WORLD SUMMIT AWARD

The World Summit Award is an official event of the first governmental conference dealing with the global Information Society. It seeks to demonstrate concrete benefits of the Information Society in terms of new qualities in e-content and innovative applications, by selecting, presenting and promoting the best products from all over the world.

Leading politicians such as Mr. Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission, Mr. Wolfgang Sch�ssel, Federal Chancellor of Austria, Mr. Ion Iliescu, President of Romania and Mr. Abdoulaye Wade, President of the Republic of Senegal acknowledge the WSA with their high patronage.
