It all begun when the couple Mr. Lawrence and Dr. Gladys Zikusoka joined two professions, that is Veterinary Healthcare and Information and Communication Technologies to improve the Public Healthcare and wildlife conservation.
The couple gave a presentation during the I-Network Seminar that took place at the Parliament building on the 8th of October 2003.

Their mission is to promote conservation and public healthcare by improving primary health care to people and animals around protected areas in Africa like the Game parks and their vision is to control disease transmission where wildlife, people and their animals meet while cultivating a winning attitude to wildlife conservation and public health in local communities.

The enthusiatic members were enlightened about the relationship between Public Health and Wildlife conservation. To the suprise of many, the relationship between animals and humans is more to it than meets the eye. Diseases can be transmited from animals to human beings and from Humans to animals. It is for this reason that the couple incorporated ICTs as a tool to disseminate the information on disease spread by humans and animals.

Presiding over were Engineer Zikusooka and Mrs Rhoda Kalema, an opinion leader, retired member of parliament and also a mother to Gladys. Mrs Kalema commended the couple for making an effort to work together for the cause of developing the country's economy through wildlife conservation and Public Healthcare.

A number of students from Nkumba university were present and expressed interest in ICTs for development. Hon. Johnson Nkuuhe, the chair thanked the presenters for such a wonderful presentation and the members for attending in such big numbers.
